Product Details

North Meadow Cricklade is close to my glass studio and I often walk there. I particularly like North Meadow in the Spring, when the Snakeshead Fritillary flowers are in bloom.

It took many hours and kiln firings to make this piece. Each Snakeshead Fritillary petal began life as glass powder (same size and consistency as talcum powder) which was kiln fired to make individual components, which were then cold worked and fired to melt them into the final piece. I have also added some of the other plants from the meadow and tend to vary them with each version - so you may see Great Burnet, Buttercups, Scabious, Marsh Mallow or other meadow flowers. The main meadow is made from a mixture of glasses, glass frit and powders. The river element uses transparent glass and bent glass ribbons to give movement to the river. The hedgerow and view of the church were painted by hand using glass enamel paints.

Due to the nature of the processes, each new piece will have minor variations from the pictured item, but the overall design will be the the same. Please allow 7-10 days for creation and processing of your custom piece.

The piece is c15cm wide and c22cm tall (including stand). The stand is British Oak and was made by a UK Craftsman.

The price includes all packaging and DPD delivery to mainland UK.
